Anna, I love EVERYTHING about this post. It reminds me that what may seem "obvious" to you is miraculously surprising and helpful to others (aka moi).

This is so impressive and I particularly love the bits you do for your friends’ birthdays and important dates.

For as long as I have known you, the thing that never fails to impress me is how much content and how many letters you manage to send each week. It blows my mind. And all this with a little one! If you’re ever inclined to share a Work version of these hacks and how you split your calendar!

Have a good week Anna! xxx

Liza that is seriously SO kind!! I think the secret is just bloody loving writing newsletters (I’m far tardier on other corners of the internet!) and a very helpful husband who does more than his fair share with our little one, but I’m sure there’s a post in there somewhere so thank for the seed of inspiration.

My husband and I have a rule that we always pack a swimsuit even if we think there's no way we could possibly need it. They take up so little room and it's so nice to be surprised and be able to swim.

LOVE that tip!!

Anna, I regret to inform you that hand sanitizer does not kill Norovirus. Only good hand washing with soap does!

It says on the website it does 😭 As an emetophobe I'm going to have to pretend I didn't read this! HA!

As well as treating the areas that start to yellow at every wash, once a season I treat all my white trousers and T-shirts by soaking them in sodium percarbonate – a simple step to make them super white

Can I ask what how you treat the yellow?! It’s the bane of my existence with my husbands work uniform.

I keep the stain remover next to the laundry hamper, so things get treated as soon as they come off my body.

this feels like building a life that quietly takes care of you.

not flashy, just intentional… the kind of systems that make everything softer in the background.

i love the tenderness in the practicality

I'm convinced that we'd be best friends if we lived in the same city. These are all genius!

I remember when you once shared the weekly meal rotation trick on a Youtube video (or maybe a Substack video?), and it really stuck with me. Guess who's also having spaghetti bolognese for dinner? Hehe. More tips, please!!

I’m about to leave for a very big trip and your packing trips are GOLD, along with everything else!

Time blocking is a game changer. I even calendar sleep so that I visually see that 30% of each day is blocked out

I love this so much! For meal planning the app Deglaze has been an absolute game changer for me. Plus it allows me to save any recipes I see on Insta/Substack/etc., so that I actually end up cooking them. Just thought I'd share in case this is helpful! xx

Time blocking has been a lifesaver in my case! On sunday morning, I time block my week (gym , cleaning, appointments, etc.) and write down my meals for that week (lunch and dinner). It frees so much space in my mind.

The most underrated tip in here is putting a friend's important date in your diary and sending a message on the day itself. Most people intend to show up for the people they care about and most of the time intention is not the problem. It is the absence of a system that makes the follow through reliable. That one habit costs almost nothing and is one of the highest return investments in a relationship you can make.

Having done weekly meal plans for a while we saved up four weeks we liked and started a monthly meal plan to keep some variety - it sounds wild but when doing the online shop you just copy the order from four weeks ago and adjust as needed. You can also swap in something new easily as there are lots of options to play with. Highly recommend!
