Dissecting My Spring Wishlist
On the menu? Basics with a twist, tops for 'going out' in and a bikini that's 🔥
This post is unlocked for all, thanks to NET-A-PORTER* 🔓
The sun is shining, and there’s a whisper of spring in the air. Although I haven’t purchased many clothing items this year, I chalk that up to being in hibernation mode, and as the outside world slowly begins to unfurl, I feel ready to dig in and dissect my spring wishlist. I’m craving the excitement of the way a new puzzle piece can uncover a whole host of fresh outfit formulas and ideas. GIVE IT TO ME!

If you want to dig into my full wardrobe plans for the year, I did a deep dive into that here, but these are the key takeaways:
The overarching theme of 2025 is to add variety to my wardrobe, so although I’m sure there’s the odd piece here and there that will get through the net, I’m aiming to avoid basics. I’m looking for things that add interest, shape and the opportunity to shift my usual go-to silhouettes.
I’ll be avoiding any colours that are out of my ‘true autumn’ palette. I personally found my colour analysis last year to be SO enlightening in terms of giving me the confidence to add a few dashes of colour to my wardrobe. Deep, rich and muted colours are the one for me, but basically I need warmth, even if it’s a neutral.
No trend items that don’t resonate with my personal style: I’m thinking of the KHAITE Studded Belt, mesh flats, High Sport Pants, Sambas, etc.
Right, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of what I’m currently coveting…

A Black Coat With A Twist. Or how I put it in my wishlist: ‘Oversized Black Car Coat/Trench’. I own several black coats, but all of them fall into the heavier wool coat category or are a slightly more slim-fit trench. I’m thinking of something thinner that could layer easily for spring, either with minimal details or that classic A-line car coat shape. This Toteme Satin Trench Coat* falls more into the trench side of things, but the drape adds movement that my other jackets lack. Need some more ideas for your wishlist? Here you go…

Jackets To Elevate. I’m still a sucker for a suede or leather jacket, and this Rohé Panelled Leather Jacket* keeps coming back onto my radar. I’m quite the fan of brown these days - a far softer colour on me than my usual black - and this neutral tone pairs well with basically every pair of trousers I have in my wardrobe, especially wide-leg white jeans like these*, or pale-wash denim. I think this RIXO Brown Suede Coat* deserves a spot on my wishlist as well.

Funky Denim. Just denim that’s a bit ‘funky’, for lack of a better word. I have the denim basics covered (the AGOLDE ‘90’s High Rise* are still my favourite years down the line), so I’ve challenged myself with the goal that if I am going to buy denim this year, then it needs to add ‘something’…
Toteme Twisted Seam Jeans* - Perhaps the most subtle of my picks here, but the twisted side seam helps to add some shape.
B SIDES Lasso Barrel-Leg Jeans* - Speaking of shape, these give a slight nod to the horseshoe trend, and I love the wash.
Citizens of Humanity Ayla Cargo Jeans* - The Ayla style has been on my radar for a while, but I like the look of this oversized, more ‘trouser’ style.
MOTHER Half Pipe Jeans* - These are the ones I will most likely buy. LOVE the black piping and how it would add detail to a simple outfit.

Non-Basic Tops. This category crops up on my wishlist a lot under the guise of things like ‘Non-Basic Black Top’ or ‘Non-Basic Brown Top’ - so specific! ‘Black Sheer Shirt’ at least feels somewhat helpful. It’s a query that comes up a lot in the group chat, too. Even in the past week, it’s come up twice (here and here), so I know I’m not the only one! It’s a category that can help you break out of the monotony of jeans and a jumper, plus give you evening-out options to pair with jeans. Look, I’m a millennial - we can’t help it. Here are the ones that I’ve added to my NAP wishlist.

Six Things I Can’t Stop Thinking About. Some of these have been on my wishlist for a while; others are more recent finds I screengrabbed to share with you.
Lié Studios The Klara Earrings* - I saw Jessie wear these when we visited Edinburgh, and they were the *perfect* evening earrings to wear as a standalone piece. When they come back into stock, I’m snapping them up.
AGOLDE Ren Jeans* - These have been on my wishlist for a while. I originally roadtested them in New York, and for a more spring/summer ‘show off your ankle’ pair of jeans, they are just what you need.
Toteme Belt Bag* - This bag!! THIS BAG!!! I need to take the plunge. From giving both the smooth brown leather and the mock-croc versions ago, I feel like the softer, more buttery leather of the OG brown has my heart.
Toteme The Minimalist Suede Ballet Flats* - I’ve flirted with red in my wardrobe (with great success so far), and the shape of these are very similar to the leopard print flats I wore all summer long. Perhaps it’s time to dip my toe into some Dorothy flats.
James Perse Vintage Boy T-shirt* - It’s the colour of this tee for me. A washed-vintage steel grey - it’s just not something I’ve been able to duplicate elsewhere.
Loulou de Saison Satin Slippers* - Would I ever be brave enough to wear these outdoors? Who knows?! But the colour and shape are just crying out to be worn with an ankle-skimming pair of wide-leg jeans. The combo of these and the Ren’s? YES PLEASE.
A Swimwear Brand To Know. I committed the brand LIDO to memory the other week when Victoria shared a swimsuit she loved from the brand. It turns out they also make the *exact* type of bikini I’ve been searching for*, with a high-waisted bottom that’s mid-coverage and a top that’s just, well, simple. I haven’t felt this good in swimwear for a LONG while (although Hunza G* is always a solid choice in my eyes). One to pop on your wishlist for your summer travels.

I stopped in my tracks at how much this post resonates; not only that I’m furiously adding new puzzle pieces to my wishlist. More than that; you and I are seeking so many of the same things! I told myself to stop buying basic tshirts (Kelly!!) and get in touch with my inner desires to avoid trends that aren’t for me (boho!).
My friends call me “jacket queen” because I adore a good jacket! I gasped at those red Toteme flats! Gorgeous.
My millennial heart loves to see the return of the “going out” top! And omg loving the fancy draping with a casual print like gingham, such a good juxtaposition!
