MONDAY
I’ll admit that style-wise, I didn’t exactly start the week off strong. It was a Bank Holiday - although sadly a grey, blustery one - so we hunkered down in the morning before heading to the local miniature railway (dur!). I did wear a new pair of black summer trousers* that I’ve been testing for a post that are just what I was looking for, so the outfit wasn’t completely lost. But it just didn’t feel right for the occasion; a little too fancy. Flip-flops would have chilled it out, but it was too cold for them and I just felt like a bit of a knob in my loafers. I wholeheartedly blame this outfit for a post that’s currently in the draft process…
TUESDAY
…and the ‘not wrong, but not right’ outfit spell continued! I think two factors were coming into play here. One, I was not leaving enough time to get ready. I have to start admitting to myself that it takes me longer than three minutes to create a good outfit. But two, I’m in the goddamn luteal phase, therefore body image is a little out the window right now. It happens. Anyway, I headed to London for a day of meetings on Tuesday, and in the interest of feeling fancy, I opted for my recent purchase - the With Nothing Underneath Shirt*. I think I’ve worked out why I didn’t love this one - in the words of Tibi, it needed some ‘slim’. Everything was oversized - the shirt, my jeans, my jacket. A slimmer, slightly cropped pair of white jeans would have made all the difference.
Behind the paywall this week:
What I wore to our anniversary meal and a VERY good Sussex-based restaurant recommendation.
My most recent DONNI buys and how I’ve been styling them (I’m beyond OBSESSED with these trousers).
A Broadstairs girls trip itinerary and the bag that can fit everything in for an evening away. The outfits get waaaaaaaay better, promise.
