MONDAY

Jumper (similar*) / joggers / necklace (similar*)

Seeing as it’s SHOP YOUR WARDROBE month at The Wardrobe Edit, I’m giving myself a loose theme to follow each week. I’m not looking at it as a hard and fast rule, but more just a creative guide; a prompt to give me some direction when I’m standing in front of the wardrobe each morning and putting the pieces together (need more advice on that? Read this post!!!). This week, it was time to dust off my least-worn items and bring them to the forefront.

My aim was to wear anything that my Indyx said I hadn’t worn - which was possible for some pieces, but not for others (nude strap heels in January?! Nah, I’m good). First up, this La Ligne Marin Sweater in Peridot (sadly long gone in the sale). This colour?! I’m obsessed. I’d worn it as a scarf, but hadn’t managed to wear it on my body. Silly, I know. My usual reaction is to throw it on with a pair of vintage Levi’s jeans, but the almost stonewash blue tone of them reads as a colour, like putting baby blue with green, which isn’t bad, just not exactly what I was looking for. Black feels harsh. Brown makes me feel like Shaggy Rogers. I just hadn’t worked it out. Enter the Le Bon Shoppe Balloon Pants in Naturelle, which, again, I haven’t found myself reaching for much. Together, they were exactly what I needed for a day spent at home channelling my inner January mood (find the vlog of that here). Together they felt fresh, I was RIDICULOUSLY comfortable, and the joggers were so good I had to physically restrain myself from buying another pair.

TUESDAY

Earrings* and ring* (ad - gifted) / T-shirt* / jumper* (ad - gifted) / vintage Levi’s 501’s (similar*)

Another piece I’d barely worn - this Rohé Wool & Cashmere Polo Sweater* (ad - gifted). Indyx said I’d worn it once. ONCE!! For this beauty?! I guess for me it’s a bit of a ‘between knit’. I have chunkier knits with more heft, and thinner, more classic crewneck cashmere styles that I tend to reach for more often. Polo necks always stump me for some reason, when actually all I need to do is do the whole ‘layer it with a white tee’ thing. EASY. After a styling session with Anna over the weekend (full debrief on that here), I felt compelled to wear my vintage Levi’s 501’s in this muted-brown wash more, and actually, I really liked how the two looked. For a creative planning day with mates, I felt put-together, but not too polished, you know?

I wrapped up for the day because it was SNOWING!!!

For paid subscribers this week:

  • A peek into my styling session with Reva Luft (Troupe on Substack - full post coming next week) and the discovery of a WFH dressing gown jacket?!

  • What I wore for a weekend of two halves: a Hot Wheels Live Show (I am not joking) and an adults-only day-long croissant-making workshop (MY DREAM).

  • My go-to nutritious lunch that involves minimal cooking, more styling ideas for jogging bottoms and the phone case I’ll know you’ll want to the link to.
