How To Be Organised in 2025

Creating content online for 15 years means I’ve experienced many eras - the ombre dip-dye era, the disco pants era, and the ukulele music as a backing track for the entire YouTube video era. In 2017, I had a major life organisation era, which resulted in the release of my very own book, An Edited Life* two years later. Writing that book squeezed every single drop of tidy tips out of me, so it’s not a topic I touch upon as much these days, but as someone who's the triple threat of a Virgo-born eldest daughter with a Type A personality, it’s in my blood. I live for this!!!! So, five years post-publication, here are my very best tips for getting things in order to make your life run oh so smoothly that are actually doable and easy to implement…
DIGITAL ORGANISATION
Treat your screengrabs as your to-do list. To me, it’s the quickest way to note something down to refer back to later. Right now, my folder includes a jacket I’ve seen that I want to mention in a newsletter, a Substack I want to remember to become a paid subscriber of, and Pandora’s top books of 2024 list that I want to add to my Notion to-read list. I don’t set a particular time to sort through them, but every couple of days, whenever I get the chance, I’ll flick through them all, action them and delete them. It’s a low-lift way to create a to-do list.
Delete photos on a daily basis. Speaking of deleting photos, do it! Like… daily! I practically delete photos as I take them - a live edit on the go. I need to be able to locate photos quickly for my job, so it’s a must, but it also makes me feel organised. If you’ve lost your way with this, the Get Sorted app is a good way to get a handle on it.
Have somewhere you can brain dump. Perhaps you always have a notepad on hand, but I find it best to do it digitally. Notes App is a good, easy way to keep a running list of *things*, but I like to add them to Notion. I have a ‘References’ page where I include all sorts of random things I want to remember - like Angie’s favourite tailor, packing tips or present ideas…
The best apps for organisation. Here are the apps I use on a daily basis that help keep things tidy, digitally…
Notion - an app I use every single day. It’s pretty involved and set-up can be a little laborious (I used templates from here* for work and here for personal stuff), but it’s where I organise my LIFE. I have one workspace for work where I set-up my content calendar and chop that down into daily tasks. Then I have a personal workspace where there are lists for everything; hotels I want to visit, my new year goals, recipes I want to try, my workout schedule for the month, packing lists, a general to-do list - it’s basically my second brain, but it means I never forget anything.
Notes - don’t sleep on just good ol’ basic Notes app. I love that you can have shared notes - like the grocery list or Christmas present to-buy lists that I share with my husband - but I have random lists in there too. ‘Cute things Ralph does’ is a list of exactly that and a list of my top 10 songs of all time is a great thing to bring out with friends after a few drinks because YES CARELESS WHISPER IS ON THERE.
Canva - ok so I don’t use this for organisation per se, but it’s a website that I visit on a daily basis to create things. I’ve literally just used it to make my 2025 vision board, so it’s life organisation-adjacent for me. It’s fab for general moodboards.
Indyx - my go-to digital wardrobe app. I know cataloguing your wardrobe isn’t for everyone, but I like that it forces me to keep tabs on what’s going in (and out!) of my wardrobe. I enjoy the stats and find that it helps me stem my clothing consumption (a little) by making me realise I have SO many unused formulas in my wardrobe already.
Take an hour out of your day for some digital organisation. I did this the other day and it felt SO good:
If you’re anything like me, then your storage is full on your laptop and you need to make some SPACE. I found the quickest way to do this was to clear out and delete my downloads folder.
Tidy up your desktop, pop files into the relevant folders - is there anything you could remove or delete entirely? I also updated my desktop because I always have the wallpaper as my vision board for the year. 2025 - it’s ON.
Organise your internet browser. I made bookmarks to my most-visited sites to make them easy to get to and sorted through my reading list which was a MESS.
Do the same for your phone. I try to have everything on one homescreen - with my most visited apps out and the rest in folders, and then I’ve made my widget homepage (if you swipe right) a Notion quicklinks section.
This makes me happy.
LIFE ORGANISATION
Create a weekly rota. This is something we’re implenting for the first time, but I think having designated days to do household tasks will help us to create some ease and flow around tasks that we just LOVE to put off and then become a pain in the ass when we need to do them all at the same time. I don’t think it’s helpful to go overboard here, but even just automating these three things will be a big help I reckon:
Meal planning and a weekly food shop
Laundry days
Bed linen and towel laundry days
Have a handbag kit. I’m always swapping around my handbag, so I have a little pouch that’s easy to move between bags so I always have what I need on hand. Mine includes:
Space NK Mini Travel Bag* with: hand sanitizer, lip balm, mini perfume, mini hand cream, compact mirror, tampons, cleansing wipe, tissues, blister plasters, a Tide Pen*, a pen, hairbands, ear plugs, pill box* with paracetamol and mints.
Make an emergency car kit whilst you’re at it. If you’ve got space in your boot, keeping these things in there permanently will mean that you’re always prepared for an unexpected stop by a beach, rainy days or a major back seat vomitting situation. We keep tote bags, wellington boots (with socks!), a first aid kit and then a washing-up bowl in the back, that contains:
Kitchen roll, a full change of clothes for our little one, cereal bars, a microfibre towel for each of us, sun cream, an umbrella, a torch, bin bags, toilet roll, wet wipes, a big bottle of water and a little pouch that contains: calpol, plasters, paracetamol, a pen, notepad and anti-bacterial wipes.
Invest in things that make your life easier. If it’s something you use on a daily basis and it’s going to make your life a little more efficient in some kind of way, then it’s something to consider purchasing. A few things that spring to mind:
Dyson Hairdryer* - this thing was like six times the price of the one I was using before, but it’s quiter and quicker and lighter.
Joseph Joseph Ironing Board* - it’s pretty compact for an ironing board and the hook on the back means we can hide it behind our utility door.
Vitamin Divider* - at the beginning of the week I sort all my supplements in here and I’m good to go.
…next on my list is a Vitamix, because my Nutribullet just ain’t cutting it.
Buy a charging cube. If, like me, you have a million things to charge overnight, there’s a high chance you can plug it all in this bad boy*. It also means whenever I travel I just unplug this and take the whole thing with me.
When you just can’t find the motivation. This 60-minute timer is what you need*. Of course you can do the good ol’ ‘Pomodoro Method’ with it - work for 25 minutes, have a 5 minute break and repeat - but if ever there’s something that I’m majorly putting off, I put an hour on the clock, put away my phone and crack on. It has a very high success rate for me.
Bulk buy sensible things. I don’t think we need to be bulk buying everything, but there are a few household and everyday items that I just don’t want to be buying on a monthly basis, you know? I will always buy larger quantities in one go of shower gel (I use these refills), shampoo, conditioner and dry-shampoo, toothpaste and floss-sticks. Then I subscribe and save with our cleaning supplies (we subscribe to Neat), loo roll and healthy bits like AG1* and protein powder*.
Make your s**t drawer verical. Look we all have s**t we need to find a home for - spare buttons, blu-tac, drawing pins, a takeaway menu from 2010 - just try to make that home as organised as possible. I’ve found a stacking set of drawers* the better option to having it all laid out in one drawer, as it makes it all easier to find and simple to organise (and keep that way!). I’ve had it like this for over 10 years now.
A niche, but great recommendation. Whilst I’m sharing storage tips, this battery organiser* is very handy, as anyone with kids knows, you’re ALWAYS changing batteries.
Tidy up at the end of the day. We operate some kind of closing shift 99.9% of the time. I try and make it fun buy sticking a TV show on my iPad, or listening to a podcast, but at the end of every day - post putting our son to bed and pre us settling in for our daily dose of ‘let’s watch our iPads next to eachother’ time - we tidy up. It’s nothing extreme and usually takes us under 15 minutes, but loading the dishwasher, taking things upstairs and putting away washing, makes the (early!!) morning a far more pleasant experience.
STYLE ORGANISATION
If it’s hanging in your wardrobe, then it’s good to go. If a piece of clothing needs repairing, or taking to the tailors, or even just ironing, then I try not to hang it back up in the wardrobe. If it’s hanging then it’s good to go. Which saves me pulling out crumpled pieces and ending up in a last-minute steaming frenzy.
The same hangers make all the difference. If you want your wardrobe to look organised then invest in hangers so you have a complete set that’s all the same. Slim velvet ones are practical as they are non-slip which is good for knitwear (although it’s not recommended to hang knits - sometimes that’s just the best solution for the space). I love these gold ones (tops* and bottoms*) and have had them for years. It also helps me to operate a bit of a one-in-one-out policy - when I’m running out of hangers, that’s when I know I need to streamline.
Drawer dividers are FAB. Before I bought these* ‘sorting out my underwear drawer’ was a task I was doing on a weekly basis. How are you supposed to keep it organised otherwise, I have no idea. I haven’t had to tidy my underwear drawer since. They are also how I organise my workout gear and pyjamas.
Make your own styling hacks section. In one of those dividers that holds my underwear, I save one section for all my little styling bits and bobs. Think elastic bands for holding up blazer sleeves, safety pins for securing hems, tit tape, bra strap manipulators, nipple covers etc. It makes them easy to find having them on hand, where I get dressed on the daily.
Create a set of uniforms. I do this seasonally - check out my winter version here. Having a set of formulas that you can rotate through and repeat again and again, without needing to work your styling muscle every AM is such an easy way to simplify your morning routine.
Have a style signature that elevates your look. If you want to feel put-together on a time limit, find small tweaks you can make to your look, that have big impact and add polish:
To me, it’s always jewellery. There’s nothing quite like a big gold earring to finish off my look. Not got pierced ears? Try ear cuffs (I have the group chat to thank for that one!)
Headbands or hair accessories are an easy thing to throw one. I always think a a French hair pin, or something like this* are so chic.

A signature lip colour. You do you, but if I’m ever in the mood for a red, then I love Vermillion*.
Find low-effort beauty hacks that make you feel great. Can you tell I have a small child in my life? I’m always in the market for TIME. But I want to feel good too. These steps make me feel organised in the beauty department:
Applying tanning drops* before bed means I skip complexion products the next day.
Finding a simple makeup routine for chill days - I use a brow gel*, curl my lashes and apply my favourite lip balm*.
If I want a low-effort hairstyle and am nearing a hair wash day, I spray a dry-shampoo* in my hair before bed, then plait it and secure it with silk hair ties for a non-greasy wavy look the following day.
Invest in a jewellery box of some kind. No matter the size of your jewellery collection, having it organised in a way where you can clearly see it all, will mean that you can rotate through it all and grab what you need quickly in the morning:
Small collection - try this travel size organiser* (love that you can monogram it too).
Medium collection - this one is so cute*.
Large collection - and now I use this bad boy* and it’s bloody brilliant (I have the Extra 2L - no lock, version).
KITCHEN ORGANISATION
Have a rolling grocery list. In my Notes App I have a shared shopping list with my husband where we add things in daily, as we run out. It’s also a good place to pop shared info - like Christmas dinner timings and Ralph’s friend’s parent’s names because forgetting people’s names is one of my worst traits.
Create a master list of meals. I have a list in our shared Notes app so we can both easily meal plan and prep for our family, but I have one in Notion too that I’m constantly adding to. My mum used to have this written out on the back of an old Christmas card when we were growing up and it’s just helpful to have that reminder of meals you like to make and eat, when you’re having a ‘what the hell are we going to eat tonight?’ moment. I know ChatGPT can be a little 🙃, but I’ve found it quite helpful to use as a springboard for finding recipes that fit particular dietary requirements or nurtitional output. Add a scoop of protein powder, a tablespoon of mixed seeds and half an apple to that Chia Seed Pudding recipe on my breakfast list and you’ve got yourself a 30g+ protein and 12g fibre meal right there.
Have a go-to healthy meal. This was huge for us last year - having our go-to easy meal be something that’s actually nourishing for our bodies. We can rustle this up in 30 minutes with our eyes closed, and we usually have what we need, except for popping to the shops for salmon. If we can’t be arsed, here’s what we do:
Turn on oven to 180℃ fan. Cube up sweet potatos and mix on a baking sheet with a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper. Put in the oven.
Prep the salmon by drizzling with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic granules and smoked paprika. After 12 minutes of cooking the sweet potato, pop the salmon in the oven too. Set timer for 18 minutes.
Whilst that’s cooking, prep your green veg and cook that for the final 10 minutes - we usually just steam some broccoli. DONE.
Make the most of your cupboards. If you want some space saving ideas for the kitchen, these are great for when you’re tight on space:

This organiser* makes storing plates and bowls a little easier if they are usuaully all piled up on top of each other.
A lazy susan* is a great way to store spices.
I use this* to store any chopping boards and baking sheets.
Your kitchen essentials list. If you’re feeling a little underprepared in the kitchen department, this master list is what you need.
Pre-prep your smoothies. In the summer I make a smoothie every morning for breakfast - it’s efficient and is basically a big adult milkshake. I’ve found these pouches* to be FAB for pre-portioning out frozen ingredients so I can just grab a pouch straight out the freezer in the morning and lob it in the blender. I portion out the dry ingredients in these*, which are also great for snacks on the go. Then I just need to add milk. So simple.
