In lieu of my usual Weekly Wishlist post that goes out every Friday, I thought I’d switch it up as it felt like a matter of urgency that I perform this seasonal sort-out immediately. I’ve been dying to squeeze it in somewhere!! I’ll be back to my usual programming next week, and in the meantime, feel free to dig into the archives here if you miss your weekly style digest.

I’ve spent the past two weeks in wardrobe chaos. The pile of clothing to iron grew slowly by the day, freshly washed clothes were left without returning to a hanger or their spot in the drawer, a return languished on the side that I promised myself I’d do tomorrow (then the next day then the next), and all my light linens, vest tops and sandals were within in my direct reach as rain pelted heavily down on the windows. And all of this in VIRGO SEASON?! This had to stop!!! So this week, I snapped. I’d been putting off my autumn sort-out as we’re still a week or two away from the season officially beginning, but with jacket-wearing weather firmly upon us, I performed what is the greatest wardrobe rejig of all - the autumn organise.

Whatever your clothing area set-up is, I recommend having your most seasonally appropriate clothing easiest to reach. Whether that’s swapping items to a top drawer or moving them to the quickest to grab spot in your wardrobe. It’s not so much about the space that you have; it’s more about access. You want your pieces to be easy to get out and for it to be clear what makes up the autumn contingent in your wardrobe (or spring if you’re in the southern hemisphere - the same rules apply). I get it; it’s autumn, and we’re feeling spendy (have you SEEN my last two wishlists?). I promise you that reorganising your wardrobe for the season ahead is the number one way to quash the urge and get reinspired by what you have. So here’s a video of the process and a step-by-step guide for you…
