Lately, I’ve been starting my days with the same trusty duo - a white boxy T-shirt and a white, wide-leg, relaxed-fit pair of jeans. Whatever the weather and whatever my plans, it’s a base that I can tweak as required. It never fails. To me, it’s the unofficial outfit springboard of the season. So today I thought I’d talk you through my favourite ways to wear it. Just make sure you’ve got a Tide Pen* handy…

Here’s the base I was working with:
Everlane Box-Cut Tee* (I wear a medium) - a very, very good dupe for my forever fave, the LESET Margo T-shirt*, just a smidge more lightweight.
AGOLDE Low-Slung Baggy Jeans* (go one size down from your usual for a low-slung fit, or two sizes down from your usual so they sit higher on the waist. I wear a 27) - a little baggy without feeling like you’re swimming in fabric. Possible dupes? Try these* or these*.

IDEA #1 - With a standout piece. On days like we’ve been having this week, where you can ditch the jumper completely, I’ve been reaching for just jeans and a tee with one standout piece to add some flavour. Perhaps for you it’s a colourful shoe, or a heavily detailed belt, but I’ve enjoyed tying my green jumper around my waist, or opting for a leopard print bag.
IDEA #2 - With a heavier coat. Now the weather for next week ain’t looking so fresh, so I’ll need a little more covering my body than just a simple white tee. Thinner wool coats are a good option for that. Thin enough that you won’t be boiling by lunchtime, but thick enough to leave your jumper layer at home.
IDEA #3 - With texture. To be fair, jeans and a T-shirt don’t offer much in the texture department (although a pair of white linen trousers can always help with that), so experiment with the fabric of your ingredients. A denim shirt and a suede tote bag make solid additions.
IDEA #4 - With a light layer. Instead of a long wool coat, try it with a shorter wool jacket. Here I riffed off an outfit I repeated a ton last spring; it’s just such an easy one to throw on for a whole host of occasions. Experiment with belts here. Sometimes an outfit needs breaking up, and sometimes it can feel fussy. Here, it felt required.
IDEA #5 - With a cardi layered over the top. This cardigan is new to me, and I’m very much in the ‘I WANT TO WEAR THIS EVERY DAY’ phase, but it certainly works here. White, grey, black and brown is a colour combo that I just adore; there’s something about it that feels expensive.
IDEA #6 - With your V-neck jumper. It feels like we’ve been wearing our white tees under jumpers for a solid two years without a day off at this point, but spring is still prime layering season. The freshness here comes from pairing the look with bright white jeans. This is my own wee nod to the ‘Fisherman Chic’ trend of SS25.
IDEA #7 - With your favourite jacket. I have been living in this jacket recently, and to be honest, there isn’t much that doesn’t go with this oversized leather piece, but the all-white base definitely signals some serious spring vibes. I broke it up by adding an animal print pair of flats and a textured bag.
IDEA #8 - With the basics. Sometimes sticking with what you know is just what you need. An outfit that feels like a hug - this is that for me. I’m always a sucker for an outfit that incorporates creams or white with beige, brown and black. Black and brown pieces don’t feel like they should work together, but they always do.
IDEA #9 - With a funky jacket. Ah come on, grab a jacket that has a bit of jazz to it. Something animal print? Or a funky pattern? A bit of colour? Or a layer that gives some serious texture? Here I’m ticking two of the boxes and grounding the olive green with black accessories. It’s hard to pick a favourite, but this would be up there.

What I've Learnt From Two Weeks of Bad Outfits
Eagle-eyed readers might have spotted that there’s been a two-week hiatus in my ‘Everything I Wore This Week’ wardrobe diary posts, and that’s for two reasons. One, I was away with family and allowed myself to do something I don’t do often - not open my laptop.
Here's What I *WON'T* Be Buying For Spring
Don’t get me wrong, I love me a wishlist, but isn’t it fun to see what others totally aren’t feeling? An anti-haul of sorts? Today, I was in the mood to share exactly that, so here’s a list of things that I’m pretty sure I won’t be picking up this spring. From the trends that don’t resonate with my personal style to pieces that, quite frankly, I just don’t need more of. Plus, I’ve thrown in a little list of what I DO plan to be wearing over the next two months to balance it all out. Think of this like a spring style smorgasbord,

Great post! I recently watched a video of a stylist who said that when top and bottom match any jacket or top layer works which literally changed my life for the better. So easy and endless possibilities!
