New York Style Notes & My Updated Shopping Guide
What all the cool girls in New York are wearing.
New York FEEDS me. But you already knew that. A thinly guised ‘Business Studies’ school trip way back in 2007, where I got lost in a heavily scented Abercrombie & Fitch and screamed on an open-top bus tour because we’d never experienced such a bone-chilling freeze (we were 17), ignited the whole thing. A guy yelled in our faces for jay-walking, and I’ve never felt so ALIVE!!! We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, and I thought I’d made it.
Sex & City! The City! Girls! Friends! When Harry Met Sally! You’ve Got Mail! RHONY!! New York not only has my heart and the core of my media diet, but it has fashion. There’s an energy that makes me clock into what everyone is wearing that I don’t really feel anywhere else. It feels fresh. It feels chic, but ultimately, it’s practical. The city requires it. Polished, but lived-in. These are clothes that are being worn. 10k steps a day without a walking pad. So this time round, I took notes, and today I’m sharing them. Along with my newly updated NYC shopping guide (and its accompanying Google Map - that’s a paid sub perk right there!), the morning-long shopping route I’d suggest and the ONE item I bought home with me…
