Yesterday, out of nowhere, the clearout wave hit. You know the sort that stops you in your tracks, and you are physically unable to complete any other task until it’s complete? Eat. Drink. Perform any essential bodily function. Yeah, that. I’m guessing it had something to do with my extremely clarifying styling session with Reva from Troupe, combined with the fact that I was majorly procrastinating from filming my first paid brand job of the year, but either way, I spent four hours in my wardrobe streamlining, steaming, and doing tasks I’ve been putting off for years (seriously!). Not only do I feel a whole lot better for it, but my clothing is now thinned out slightly, easier to view and ready to wear, making getting dressed even easier, and that’s the aim of SHOP YOUR WARDROBE month in a nutshell.
A few years ago, I never even ironed my clothes (I know, this is mad to me too), let alone invested the care, time, and effort required to keep them looking their best. But through working through your wardrobe in this very intense, but ultimately quite loving way, you’re not only elongating the lifespan of what you own, but you’re getting obsessed with it again. Despite my morning culminating in me needing to lie down in the middle of my wardrobe floor because I had (inevitably) ended up with my son’s fever, I was still buzzing with new ideas (along with a throbbing headache and a desperate need for Nurofen).
So, for paid subscribers this week, a hard reset step-by-step guide including:
How to thin out your wardrobe in a no-regrets kind of way.
My clothing care kit: wool sprays, leather conditioner, suede protector recs and more.
The no-stress way I kept track of it all as I went and gathered new ideas without adding hours of time to the process.
It’s easy! It’s fun (kinda!), and there is nothing more satisfying than turning your wardrobe into the most beautifully visually merchandised shop that’s personal to you…
