Style Clinic: June Q&A | The Photos I Never Thought I'd Share Online
Plus summer layering ideas, comfy sandal recs and staying cool (and chic) on sweaty days...
This month’s Style Clinic is in written form, as I’ve been a bit under the weather. Video more your thing? You can catch up with last month’s live video here. It’s simple - you asked, I answered. Everyone gets a little taste, but paid subscribers get the full meal, including the photos that I never thought I’d put on the Internet…
P.S.) If summer style just crept up on you there, and you’re feeling a bit lost, check out last Friday’s post for an emergency pre-summer style dispatch that’s *packed* with ideas.
“Any good recs for white jeans?”

I find the most versatile white denim style in my wardrobe to be a full-length, wide-leg pair, and for a few years now, it’s been the AGOLDE Low Slung Baggy Jeans* that have ticked off that box. They are a true year-round pair of jeans that have enough flow and ease for summer, but feel crisp enough for the cooler months, too. If you’re after a dupe, try these*, or these if you’re U.S.-based*.
“Would love your ideas on how you’d update your summer outfit formulas from last year? What summer pieces from last year are still working well this year?”
To be honest, last summer was the first time in my adult life when I truly enjoyed getting dressed for the heat. I do think my psoriasis being in a pretty ‘good’ state played a big role, but I finally leaned into what my version of summer style is and made it work for me. So I feel like there isn’t much updating I want to do this year. I’m scrolling through my looks from last year, and I’m excited to wear the same looks piece for piece.
In terms of what I’m buzzing to be reunited with:
Linen, well, everything. I love trousers and I’m not much of a dress girl, especially maxis. So last summer, I worked out what that really meant for me and my summer style. It meant investing in light and airy trousers that I could wear on even the clammiest of days (these Toteme ones* are my favourite favourites) and rekindling my love for a mini dress*. These feel like the two pieces I wore all summer long.
Textured bags. This one from Dragon Diffusion* was a favourite from last year, but I love my little Alienina Rope Bag* that I’ve had for years - it always gets a decent airing out during the summer. It also goes without saying that my year-round love - this St Agni bag* - continues to be my go-to bag of choice.
Digging out my jewellery. If there is one switch I’ll make this year, I’ll change up my jewellery a little. I’m thinking more reliance on my beaded necklace* or pendant ones like this* or this*.
