The Style Edit: Cars Coats, A New White Tee & Upgrading My Workout Gear

Two new buys I made this week that are SHOCKING to me.

Just like always, my shopping recs are up top for all; then, for paid subs, there’s my current Vinted saves, your fashion reading list for the week and a new packing formula you might want to give a go (plus a pre-Mallorca packing update).

Give me a warm-toned animal print, and I’m SOLD.

I know ME+EM aren’t famously known for their shoes (their Wide Leg Track Pants* were v.popular last month - who bought them? Report back!). But someone on their design team has a soft spot for animal print, and I appreciate that. I’m always down for a pointy (chic!) flat (practical!) like these*.

They are also here just slinging out £150 silk tanks* like it’s no big deal.
Remember, code ANNA10 gets you 10% off.

Easy trouser season is almost upon us, and instead of your usual linen, hemp is a nice alternative - the same, relaxed, undone feel but often considered up to eight times stronger. WHO KNEW?! I love the look of these WNU Palazzo Pants*; available in navy, cream, green and red too.

10/10 for creative direction on this shoot.

ALERT! ALERT! There’s a new colourway just released of undeniably the most practical tote in town - the Loeffler Randall Mira Tote*. This bag got a lot of love in Wednesday’s ‘New York Style Notes’ post.

A short checkered interlude, because this Oversized Check Shirt* is my top pick from the latest Rohe drop.
Dare I say, car coats over a trench?!

From questions I’ve seen cropping up in the chat, it feels like a lot of you are in the market for a simple, detail-free car coat. My top options for you would be the Rue Sophie Provenance Oversized Jacket* (I think the colour ‘olive’ is even better than the beige), and I always come back to the Studio Nicholson Holin Coat*, which feels like the GOAT in this category.

I feel the innate need to road-test every single white T-shirt on the market, so my next purchase? The Coucou Intimates Classic Tee*.
This 100% superfine merino wool top* is CHIC AS HELL.
Sunshine in bag form.

The spring bag drop on NET-A-PORTER is strong. The Liffner Charm Suede Drawstring Bag* stood out to me purely for the colour, and isn’t the Sensi Studio Straw Bucket Bag* FUN? In fact, Sensi Studio* is a good brand to check out if you fancy a designer raffia bag that isn’t four figures (!?) - I love this green one*.

My two newest buys are more workout-adjacent, but still, they feel pretty shocking to me. The way I teased my husband when he first bought a pair of Salomon’s, and well, well, well, two years later, what am I buying? Yes, Salomon XT-6’s*. I was missing a pair of slip-on shoes I could sling on in a matter of seconds before a class, and when I spotted them in green*, I finally bit the bullet. Then I’ve worn the Lululemon Align Pants* for the past 10+ years, but what if I pushed the boat out and bought a straight leg pair?! WOAH. I’ve gone for the Vuori All The Feels Straight Leg Leggings* and I’ll let you know how I get on.

My Reformer Pilates fit is about to get an upgrade.
Green T-shirt* / checkered shorts* / stripe towel poncho* / stripe shorts* / sunglasses* / RHCP T-shirt* / hiking trainers* / trainers* / stripe linen trousers* / stripe T-shirt* / checkered trousers*

I also just had to buy a whole new wardrobe for my son because he is growing at a rate that his trouser hems can’t keep up with. It’s notriously well documented that boys clothes - especially once they graduate out of the toddler years - are notriously ugly. But I’m pretty chuffed with my recent haul (thankfully, so is he!) and thought I’d share in case any of your little ones’ T-shirts are also fast becoming crop tops. I buy what I can secondhand, top it up with a handful of new bits and then put all back into the Vinted universe when he outgrows it. Speaking of which…

Beyond the paywall this week: My top Vinted finds I’ve saved for you, how I’m packing for my upcoming trip and your weekly style-reading digest.
