Anna you need to do more videos you’re so good at it!!!! It was so fun for me to watch and see how you truly understood what I was saying to you in our session and watch YOU coming up with the outfits yourself. Felt like a proud mom ❤️

Well this has made my DAY!! An honour to spend an hour with you ❤️

I love this!! I would be curious to hear from either you Anna or Reva about putting together a great base outfit without thinking of the coat. In winter I often find that with the coat, my outfits feel great and put together but without the coat, it ends up being just a jeans and jumper situation.

Love this idea! I think I’ll book in another session with her in the summer to tackle this.

That would be so great! Can‘t wait to hear what Reva has to say.

Love this! However I would love to see @allisonbornstein credited as the originator of the now-ubiquitous terms “hows” and “regulars”, etc - if Reva is using them in her own styling business 🙂 I think it’s important to give credit where credit is due 💓

Those are terms I’ve seen used widely and did not realize they originated with Allison. I feel awful about that and of course she deserves credit!! I’d never want to present someone else’s language as my own or make anyone feel otherwise. I’ve updated my booking terminology to reflect that. Thank you for pointing it out!

Great post Anna. The clean pared back simplicity in these looks resonates with my style preferences and allows your lovely pieces to take the limelight. Very glad that ‘ cardigan’ jacket has been revived. It is one of my favourite items in your wardrobe. I have something similar I wear to death and think it could be so versatile for you. Having an unstructured but polished over-layer is such a powerful building block for outfits.

Always look forward to your comments Jillian and I’m so glad I’ve found a use for that piece!

Hi, have you seen these from Sessun? They’re super soft and comfortable. Might be worth a look.

I have had a 'baby' (butternut squash) wrapped in a blanket many times

If I saw that IRL I promise I would not judge 😂 We’ve all been there!

The cardigan as a top! YES! Love this. Have started using Indyx (on your recommendation) and it has unlocked something in me. So good! Thank you for all of this wonderful content. Gobble gobble. x

Loved your contagious excitement! I'm a much older age group and don't have children, principles remain the same .... thanks to both you and Reva <3

I had to make sure that I dove into this post when I had ample time to watch the video and read it all. And I am so glad I did. Adore you and adore Reva and this was just such a match made in heaven in so many ways!

Well this was so much fun. And I have been having some of those less is more feelings lately and it was so excellent to hear all that. Not that I want to stop accessorizing, but there are times to put the bling DOWN! so the end result is that I just bought myself a small sweatshirt capsule on TRR LOL . . . onward

I love Reva and I loved your breakdown of what you learned. It’s so refreshing to just not think about the bag/purse!!!

This was a great session to learn from - really enjoyed Reva's and your insights. Also, love that you have a TJs tote bag ❤️

Love this article & the outfits created. What is it about the Nike Cortez or Dries trainer that adds to the looks vs the converse? Thanks!

Anna Newton's avatar

Good question! I'd hazard a guess that it's the shape - maybe the opportunity to show a little ankle, which my high-top Converse don't give?

Reva Luft's avatar

And Vicki if you see this. It’s two things. 1 it’s the shape and 2 it’s also that converse themselves have their own built in vibe. A bit skater/teenager (ps I do love converse still) and sometimes instead of adding the causal effortless comfort vibe which is why we want the sneaker , the converse introduces that specific energy to the outfit which wasn’t our intention. Does that make sense?!

Vicki's avatar

Love this! Thanks. Just ordered the Nike's. I knew the converse wasn't quite working with my outfits but I couldn't put my finger on why. Much appreciate you both for commenting.

Love this post, I am thinking more about my base outfits now! And the video really helped bring the style session to life, so glad you did that too!
