Another vote for more videos! I really enjoy having them in the background while cooking or doing chores as an alternative to podcasts or audiobooks. I think video format works so well for fashion and beauty content which is inherently visual so can’t wait for more!!

Thanks for the feedback Kal!

Hi Anna! Wanted to share my opinion about the format: I am much more pro written content than video, when using Substack. Video content can keep me company when doing chores but I tend to pay less attention to it. I had a bit of a harder time to follow on the three sections of the video today. On the other hand reading your articles on substack keeps me focused on the content. I’d prefer to have more written content from you, and the occasional video. Looking forward to the next posts! Xx

Thanks for the feedback Julia! Oh absolutely, I picture these being a once or twice a month thing at a push! Written > video on here!

Agree with this sentiment! When in Substack, I’m here to read so I skip the videos unless they’re really short. I don’t want to go from reading to video to reading to video. I’ll usually go back to video all in one go if I have time but to be honest I just don’t watch them (I use YouTube for that), but that could just be me!

Hi Anna, I love both! Like some others mention in their comments the written format is something to settle in for, to concentrate on, which is pretty welcome in our Tik Tok world. But, like you, I do love the chance to get a real life peek into people's wardrobes, so if you like making more video's, keep 'em coming! They're great company for doing chores, repairs, or having lunch :)

I’m so greedy and love the videos but still love the articles!!! Please keep the written prices!

But videos are really helpful in showing ideas. laurel pantin is also great at them in addition to those you’ve listed!

Good shout! LOVE Laurel's videos. She's such a good style teacher.

Anna I am so with you! I love it here and love the videos, keep them coming! 💞

I was interested in the Le Bonne Shop pants (so comfy and cute!), but the fact that they max out at a size large (which apparently fits someone as slim as Anna) speaks volumes about who they see as their customer base and who they don’t.

Anna Newton's avatar

Agreed! Their sizing is just absolutely BONKERS!!!

Kathleen's avatar

Agreed. I am a size 12 and the size is unnecessarily snug in the waist but fits me perfectly everywhere else. Le Bon Shoppe needs to widen their size range.

Jessica's avatar

This is good to know, Kathleen! I typically wear a US size 10 in bottoms but am curvy in the hips so I sometimes need to size up. I have a feeling these would be too snug for me!

Yes I was able to try them in a shop here locally in Vancouver and the largest size grabbed around my hips/upper thigh and I am a size 10 US/Canada. For a jogger style pant, I do not want sloppy baggy hut definitely do not want them to grab either.

Disappointed!

It was so nice to hear you and see you walk us through the outfits. This was delightful. I spend no time on Youtube, but now... I'm excited to go and see your videos! I used to watch them a ton pre-pandemic when I spent a lot of time on Youtube. Keep them coming!! Xx

Anna Newton's avatar

Thanks for the feedback Natalia! I have to say my YouTube time is dwindling too, so I love finding videos here!

I'm all about the written stuff 🤓 - sure your videos are great but I can never find the time to watch xx

Yes to more videos! So many wonderful things here! First, even though the boiled wool trousers aren’t available, you have helped me decide on moving forward on a pair of merino wool trousers that I have been going back and forth on, and confirmed that black is the colour I would wear most. Price is the only thing holding me back, but I know that my cost per wear would come down almost immediately, thank you! Second, I managed to thrift a dark navy version of the Uniqlo cardigan you bought, and I love it. Simple, elegant, well made, wear it lots. And yes to sheer socks! I wore these years ago, then stopped when everyone was going barefoot, but I live in Canada and that is so not doable right now! And wearing all black underneath—yes! The base to so many amazing outfits! Well done!

Thanks so much Cathy! I'm so glad you're finding my posts helpul!

Always happy to dick around in my wardrobe!

I think it is worth mentioning that I love the mix of both videos and articles! I feel like my subscription is so well worth it knowing there’s going to be a variety of content to have on hand when I have free time.

Thanks for the feedback Reilly!

Big fan of written content for my commute/night down time but then the videos while doing chores/cooking is a treat! Just give us the outfit screenshots still so I can save for inspo 😂
