What I've Bought Recently & How I'm Styling It
One big ol' autumn haul: cords, jeans, suede & knitwear...
This post is brought to you in collaboration with and unlocked for all, thanks to NET-A-PORTER*.
Before we get into the bones of this post, I first have to preface it by saying that the following items were purchased over the period of a few months. Yes, I have still gone a little wild (I’m praying no family members read this edition), and it happens every darn year. Autumn is my moment, and no matter what barriers to entry I try to put in place, come September/October, the blockade is pushed to the limit. Quite literally. So here’s an extremely bountiful haul of what I’ve bought recently and how I’ve been working it all into my wardrobe; from the no-brainers that I’ve practically worn every day, to the items that need a tad more work. Fancy the video version? I’ve got you covered…
RÓHE Oversized Striped Wool & Cashmere-Blend Polo Sweater* (ad - gifted) - I wear a FR40 - my usual size.
La Ligne Marin Wool & Cashmere-Blend Sweater* - I sized up in this and take a large.
Arch 4 Belfast Cashmere Sweater* - I take my usual size - a medium - in this.
Toteme Oversized Corduroy-Trimmed Waxed Cotton Jacket* - I wear this in a DK36 - which is a size down from my usual.
RÓHE Oversized Wool & Cashmere-Blend Jacket* (ad - gifted) - I wear a FR38, a size down from my usual. It’s pretty oversized.
B Sides Elissa Cotton-Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants* - I wear them in a 29.
FRAME Low Slung Barrel Boyfriend Jeans* - you can go down a size in these. I’m a U.K 12 and wear a 28.
SLVRLAKE London High-Rise Straight-Leg Jeans* - go one or two sizes up, I’m usually a 28/29 in denim and wear a 30 in these.
Liffner Buckled Leather Bucket Bag* (ad - gifted)
Liffner Sprout Large Tote* (and here’s the other Liffner bag I was talking about*)
RÓHE Oversized Striped Wool & Cashmere-Blend Polo Sweater* - One thing I’ve really been focusing on this year is composition - especially with knitwear. Wool and cashmere will still pill over time, but I find it to be far more manageable than synthetic blends, and most importantly, they don’t end up REEKING (#SweatyGirlProblems). So all the knitwear you see here is a blend of wool and cashmere. This one caught my eye as it’s a nod to the rugby tops we’re seeing everywhere without it being a full-stripe number. A way to pepper in prep without it feeling too on-the-nose.
La Ligne Marin Wool & Cashmere-Blend Sweater* - Another blend - 70% wool and 30% cashmere - of course it was the colour that drew me in here. There’s some serious chunk in this jumper, and the wide ribbed crewneck detail gives a similar feel to the far pricer, but much revered, The Row’s Ophelia Sweater*, especially if you go a size or two up. It hasn’t really been chilly enough to wear it properly yet - although I’m sure that day is drawing close! - so I’ve just been doing the whole ‘sweater as a scarf’ thing with it for now.

Arch 4 Belfast Cashmere Sweater* - Look, you know that working with NAP is my dream job. However, it does mean that I get to loan some very, very nice pieces of clothing that ultimately need to be sent back. And sometimes I’m ok with that, and sometimes I’m… not. Case in point: this jumper. It’s by far my most ‘investment piece’, shall we say, of my knitwear collection, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The boxy fit that feels like a hug! That 100% cashmere finish that is SO SOFT! Like the softest jumper I’ve ever had the joy of wearing. I promise to baby this for the rest of its life.
Toteme Oversized Corduroy-Trimmed Waxed Cotton Jacket* - I could go on for dissertation-length about all the ways I love this coat. I picked it up back in August, but had had my eye on it since April (a good lesson in wishlisting and waiting!). I thought that a barn jacket could fill the hole in my wardrobe for something that was pretty practical, but with the details on the Toteme one, like the contrasting corduroy elbow patches and collar, and the super relaxed fit, it could do so in a polished and kinda chic way. And welp, WAS I RIGHT with this one. I haven’t put it down. I wore it all weekend, and in a matter of months, it’s become the coat that I grab whatever my outfit, whenever I’m running out the door.

RÓHE Oversized Wool & Cashmere-Blend Jacket* - A friend hugged me the other day and commented on how soft this jacket is - and that’s always the aim. I want to be a human teddy for my mates. Just like my knitwear composition kick, this jacket is a pure wool/cashmere mix, which means it can be a lighter layer in the shoulder months over a vest top or a tee, but it can lock in some warmth once it cools down, and the toggle frog fastenings make that option interesting. This feels like a more trendy buy than perhaps other items I’m showing here, but it’s actually practical for my lifestyle, which I hope gives it some longevity for me. It’s basically this year’s version of the Toteme Scarf Wool-Blend Jacket* that I have and still love.
B Sides Elissa Cotton-Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants* - It can’t always be rainbows and sunshine, right?! There’s always going to be a purchase or two that felt like the missing puzzle piece when you first excitedly got them, but perhaps with a bit of reflection, it hasn’t worked out that way, yet. These cords are that for me. I know there’s potential there. It just hasn’t been fully unlocked yet. I need to play. The colour and fit feel good, and I love the idea of some additional texture in my wardrobe. I just need to work out my go-to cord formula.
FRAME Low Slung Barrel Boyfriend Jeans* - These jeans! THESE JEANS! I am more than happy to be the patron saint of these completely unexpected, but glorious pair of jeans. I picked them up to test them out for my last NAP post and fell in love. They sound heinous. As a high-waist denim wearer pretty much exclusively, I never buy ‘low slung’ styles, but they are labelled far more extreme than they actually are. These sit just below my belly button, and I’m a long-torsoed gal. And the barrel is subtle, just a little kick out at the knee, which tapers back at the ankle, making them pretty easy to pair with whatever shoes you fancy, which is more than can be said for my wider-leg jeans.
SLVRLAKE London High-Rise Straight-Leg Jeans* - If I’m honest, I haven’t worn these too much yet, but they are a newer purchase from the things I’m showing you here, and you all know I went a little ham on denim in New York. But as I mentioned yesterday, I don’t think I have another pair of jeans in my collection that fit me as well as these, and when you have a pair of jeans like that, you don’t let them go. I love the straight-up-and-down shape, and the wash is solid too. They give me a similar vibe to the AGOLDE ‘90’s Pinch Waist* style in their everyday-ability, just with a slightly more eased-out leg.

Liffner Buckled Leather Bucket Bag* - You know how sometimes you just need a bag that feels very balanced and level-headed. The kind of bag that doesn’t compete with what you’re wearing, but is still a tasty cherry on top? That’s this bag. It’s black leather, which is a genre of bag that I barely ever wear these days, but the buckle detail and the length of the drop, plus the fact that I can fit a decent amount into it, has meant that I’ve got a pretty decent amount of wear out of this so far, particularly for two occasions. One, when I’m just in weekend mum-mode and want to wear a bag that still gives some elevation to my outfit, but I can wear crossbody if needs be. And two, when I’m wearing something OUT THERE, like my leopard print jacket.
Liffner Sprout Large Tote* - Another August purchase that I haven’t really put down. Firstly, this bag is HUGE. Anyone who sees it in real life comments on how much bigger it is in person. I’ve been known to fit a full overnight trip in this bag and still have ample leftover space. But it’s the golden khaki suede that makes this a true gem in my wardrobe. My outfit feels boring? Monotone? Swamped by my coat? It’s this bag that I’m reaching for.
I MEAN, I COULD KEEP GOING
…but I won’t, much to the relief of my Accountant. But whilst you’re here, here’s what else has caught my eye in case you have some openings on your wishlist:
Nour Hammour in general. They are just nailing the season's outerwear vibe. Female-led and Parisian-based, I would happily wear every single one of their offerings, but these three are top of my list:
Nour Hammour Panelled Cow Hair Black Coat* - I mean, if you can’t already tell, I’m really into this classic, long-line overcoat shape.
Nour Hammour Leopard Print Calf Hair Coat* - The way I swooned out loud when I saw this.
Nour Hammour Burgundy Suede Coat* - It’s the colour of this one that does it for me.
This wildly out of my comfort zone, Suzie Kondi Jumper*. I don’t know what it is about this jumper* because it’s a colourful, patterned piece of knitwear that is so not something I’d usually gravitate towards, but it just grabbed me in some kind of way. It’s FLIPPIN’ FUN!
Ok, these are more like it. The KHAITE Nevada Leather & Leopard Print Ankle Boots*. A classic, black ankle boot where you can dip your toe - quite literally - into leopard print. These feel like the kind of shoe that you’d turn to in your wardrobe to jazz up the simplest of outfits.
Can’t stop, won’t stop with denim. If they aren’t vintage, then I source 90% of my jeans from NAP (but you knew that already). So I’m constantly combing the denim section to see what’s new. Here are two more styles I’ve added to my wishlist:
RE/DONE The Marielou High-Rise Wide-Leg Jeans* - ‘High-rise’, ‘wide-leg’ - talk dirty to me. Those are all my denim buzzwords there, and that washed-black is the sort of rinse I gravitate towards during the colder months.
AGOLDE Arc Long High-Rise Wide-Leg Jeans* - I’m always a sucker for a classic blue wash, and I’m intrigued by the shape of these; a little wide-leg with a slight balloon shape at the knee.
Slippers you could leave the house in. I’d probably take these to a Cobbler’s to get a non-slip sole applied if I did plan to venture outside in the Aeyde Vanna Velvet Slippers*, but the pull for me here is the shape of the toe. Many of these slipper-style shoes are so rounded, and your girl needs a point, or an almond at least. So, actually, these fit the bill! I do enjoy the (sadly sold out) red version.
I *always* enjoy putting these NAP posts together, can you tell? But this week is going to be a busy one around these parts. Of course, they’ll be my usual Friday Style Edit (that’s back after a brief hiatus last week) and a Sunday Wardrobe Diary (did you catch yesterday’s?), along with my October Favourites and a post on Wednesday all about my best winter styling hacks for when the coat feels like your whole outfit. See you then!
Thanks for being part of The Wardrobe Edit. If you like what you read, I’d truly appreciate it if you liked, shared, or left a comment - it makes all the difference.
