Why Shoes Are The Most 'Successful' Category In My Wardrobe
Trying on my hardest-working pieces...
Yes, we’re still ploughing through with the annual wardrobe try-on marathon. Need to catch up? You can find my previous three posts on the topic here:
Trying on every piece of outerwear I own (warning: will make you feel itchy for autumn).
My bag collection, that adds variety to my pretty basic wardrobe. Colour! Shape! Texture! It’s here.
The most mega try-on of them all? My tops. Think knitwear, T-shirts, waistcoats, vests, the lot.
Remember, these are my aims of the try on:
Streamline where possible.
Make sure everything fits, is clean, in working order and ready to wear.
Ensure I love it. If there’s hesitation, or I’m keeping something just to fill a category that I think is a ‘need’ but never really reach for, it’s gotta go.
Today’s post is a two-in-one. We’re tackling shoes and dresses together, because I don’t have a wild amount of either of them. Tomorrow, for the grand finale, it’s trousers and denim, and well, that’s a different story. As always, I filmed the whole thing for you. It’s the perfect video to throw on in the background while you conduct an audit of your own. Or if a scroll is more your thing, I photographed the evidence of my declutter and offer my CliffsNotes for each piece. Read on for a pretty tight shoe edit if I do say so myself, what makes shoes the most efficient category in my wardrobe and the items I’ve added to my ‘to sell’ pile…
