I've been super curious to try out a stylist for my Indyx, but I'm so unsure of what to ask for and which brief to give. However, when I finally get to it I would love Sam (or you) to do it!
Honestly Sam just ‘gets it’. Next time I need to screenshot the brief process to share because I feel like it breaks it down really well in that it’s not super overwhelming x
It feels like playing in your closet with a friend! You got so many amazing looks! I love all the unexpected textures she put together. ❤️ p.s. also, any gift you’ve selected from a brand really genuinely belongs in your wardrobe and gets used. I’ve been thinking about this lately and you do it so well.
I’m traveling at the moment, but I think once I’m back, I’ll definitely give it a try. I couldn’t find much online from people who’ve already used Indyx, so this post was super helpful! Honestly though, I’m way too lazy to take photos of everything in my wardrobe, haha. I really wish they offered the same service in Europe as they do in the US—where someone actually comes over and takes photos of your pieces.
Also, I have one question! I need to get a few new clothes since I cleared out a lot recently, and now that I’ve turned 40, I want to focus on building a more minimal, timeless style. Do the stylists also recommend new pieces? Like, would they suggest a few key items to pair with what you already have to create a cohesive look? I’d love if they could do that!
Yes I’m with you on that one - it takes TIME 🙃 Although I tend to screengrab from websites instead of taking my own pics because it’s so much easier!
And yes the stylists can recommend new pieces. It’s an option on the brief. You can get them to recommend no new pieces, a few (up to 3), or a lot (up to 6), to help fill any holes you might have x
I started by just allowing a little time every time i got dressed to add the items i was wearing, and adding every item I bought. Then when I did a big clear-out and re-org I did the rest while I put them back in the closet. It took a weekend but it was worth it… I LOVE packing now!
I took all the photos over two weekends in the fall and then starting in January, I added a daily reminder to “Indyx something,” and it worked! You’ll find you want to upload more than just one a day. Now I’m going back in and adding additional info daily to my items. Hope that helps!
Anna, this was so fun! You definitely have a uniform going, in the best way. Love your yummy leather and suede jackets, sumptuous sweaters, beautiful pants, and casual accessories. There are so many good ideas here, and I love seeing items repeated more than once throughout! Well done, you and Sam!
Dear Anna, these are such gorgeous and super wearable outfits, but how do you find the Indyx app itself, besides the styling service? I struggle with flat lays. The scaling bugs me. I’ve actually just uploaded first items to Whering…
Oh interesting! I have been begging them for a way to scale where things don't rotate so easily! I love the outfit calendar - I like to see how my 'vibes' and colours change through the months and the analytics (which is a paid only feature I think) are seriously next level x
Hi Anna, I just booked a lookbook with Sam! I’ve never done this before, do you have any tips on making the most of it please? I don’t have any selfies uploaded and I’ve only started to use Indyx... I only have a couple of outfits uploaded as well… thanks!
Hi Emily! I wouldn't worry too much about outfits and selfies - perhaps a few selfies are helpful, just for Sam to get an idea of your vibe but 3 or so would do. When I was styling on there most people didn't have selfies uploaded either! x
Another timely post, thank you! I took the leap a couple of days ago and booked my look book on Indyx and can’t wait to see what they come up with! The briefing process was great, really kind of ‘held my hand’ as I went through the questions to decipher what I actually want from this. Should have something back from my stylist by the end of the month and am very excited! It’s been great to see your looks x
I’ve finally finished watching your YouTube video, I started it at 9 but lots of intervals (thanks children) so the substack has come at the absolute perfect time!

Thank you Rachel - that means A LOT! xx

I assumed you are also a stylist on the app, but I can’t find you 😑

Another very helpful and lovely post Anna. I've taken a lot of inspiration from this one in my own wardrobe. Thank you so much! ❤️
You are so welcome! x
Love the grey blazer and chocolate brown pants outfit, so chic!
Thank you! x

Oh I love that! Thank you Lindsay! x
