MONDAY

Necklace* (similar*) / bangle (ad - gifted, ANNANMV for 20% off) / T-shirt (similar*) / trousers* / bag* (ad - gifted) / sandals* (ad - gifted)

We took the rest of the week off work - so prepare yourselves for some v.casual looks - but on Monday, I spent the day tying up some loose ends. It’s truly amazing what you can do when you’re on a time crunch. I really didn’t want to leave my Substack readers high and dry for the week, so I managed to put the finishing touches on three posts (A wardrobe audit! Summer layering ideas! And my usual Style Edit for the week!) and tried to schedule bits to go live on IG too. I unsurprisingly spent the majority of the day on my laptop, but to pop to the shops, I threw on a nice bag to punch up this oversized on oversized look I had on for the day, which was a dream for WFH in terms of the comfort factor. The T-shirt is one of my favourites from St Agni last summer, and sadly, it's long gone. It’s a 100% linen tee that has the perfect amount of drape to it, but this one* looks exactly the same.

I spent the afternoon writing and shooting some additional photos for ‘The Art of Layering’ post. Read it here 👇

How to Make Summer Dressing More Interesting: The Art of Layering

It’s hot, you’re bothered, and you’re also bored with what’s hanging in your wardrobe. It’s ok! It happens! Summer is a tricky ol’ beast when it comes to styling. Ultimately, you’re wearing less clothing, and when you’re working with fewer pieces, each one has to pull more weight. There’s a fine line between effortless and uninspired, and that’s where l…

TUESDAY

Earrings* / bangle* (ad - gifted, ANNANMV for 20% off) / T-shirt* / trousers* / bag* / flip-flops*

We were originally booked to spend Monday to Thursday in an Unplugged cabin (we stayed at Basil), but due to childcare, bad weather and the chance to get a little bit more work done, we decided to head there on Tuesday instead. Think chill vibes. A petite cabin in the woods with the chance to literally switch off. I spent the whole day reading and devoured ‘Three Days in June’ by Anne Tyler* in one sitting (highly recommend!). So, for that, I wanted ease and turned to two newer items in my wardrobe. Good news - Alyssa confirmed that the DONNI Gingham Trousers* will be back for pre-order August/September (although Melissa found a GREAT DUPE* in the chat - thanks Melissa!). And I know I keep going on about the summer version of the Margo tee*, but the minute it comes back out of the wash, it’s back on my body again.

You can’t really see the hat, but I’ve had it YEARS and it’s the only summer hat I own. I found it online here (this looks similar*). I like that it’s fully squishable, so easy to pack.
A very, very picturesque little cabin.
Once things got chillier, I threw my & Daughter Jumper* (ad - gifted), over the top.

This week’s post is basically a scrapbook/diary mash-up of what I’ve been up to during this absolute heatwave of a week. Of course, there are outfits (six more of them!), and some musings on what makes a ‘good’ week style-wise. But there are also two VERY good summer BBQ dessert recipes, more book recs, foodie stuff and a workout class/errand day formula to borrow. There’s SO much more down here 👇
