MONDAY

As it’s SHOP YOUR WARDROBE month at The Wardrobe Edit, I’m giving myself a loose theme to follow each week. Last week, I dusted off my least-worn items to see if I could make them work (and it wasn’t as tricky as I thought!), and this week I tried the Stylist-approved ‘Change One Thing’ technique. Essentially, 60% of the people I spoke to for my ‘24 *Very* Stylish Substack Writers On What They Do When They Have No Idea What Wear’ piece gave this piece of advice. Instead of overhauling your whole outfit every day, just wear the same outfit as yesterday and swap out one or two things. Simple. And it is. SPOILER: Getting dressed this week was very easy. Not exactly revolutionary, but for a week where a fever did the rounds in our household, it was about as far as my style chops could stretch.

Monday was a day at home (that I vlogged - find that here!). So, for ease and comfort, I thought the logical starting point for the week was the softest outfit I could put together. I do realise that for a damp day, these shoes were a terrible choice, and I’m toying with the idea of upgrading in the practical shoe department (these perhaps*?). But for the actual outfit, no complaints.

I finally got around to making my physical moodboards for the year, and the few quiet hours it took were perhaps my favourite of the week.

TUESDAY

Phone chain* / earrings* / jacket* / top (similar*) / trousers* (similar*) / loafers (similar*)

I only left the house on Tuesday to deliver birthday goods to a friend’s doorstep, and all I did was swap the previous day’s sweatshirt for a fitted black top and layer my newly rebranded ‘WFH dressing gown jacket’ over it. Guys, I’m LOVING my indoor jacket and swanned around in it all day working from home. Same trousers, but just a change on top (and different, slightly more practical shoes as it was still pretty grim outside!). I was only two days in, but already thinking, ‘Why the hell don’t I do this all the time!?’ Getting ready took all of about two minutes.

Same coat too, just to remain true to my theme for the week.
