Thank you for publishing this today. You have impeccable timing. I’m going on vacation next week and I bought holiday clothes. I might keep 1 or 2 things that align with my style but I have to make a lot of returns. You’ve made packing and the summer much easier. 💕
I’ve revisited your post from last summer so many times and I love this follow-up!! I’m just sitting at the airport to go to Madrid and packing is so stress-free since I don’t have another wardrobe and persona for my summer get-aways. And I’m with you on the sweat-patches!
Building a summer capsule I love was one of my goals for this year and thanks to you I finally realized that I don’t need to wear feminine dresses or silhouettes I wouldn’t wear the rest of the year just because it’s warm outside. Dressing myself has never been an issue for any other season but for some reason I couldn’t get summer right. Your last year post was a revelation and I’m so happy with where I’m at this year. Thank you so so much for this Anna!
Thanks for this - despite having my colours done and really embracing them, I’m surprised at how heavily I’ve leant into black and white summer dressing this year. In this heatwave it’s really helped me still feel elevated as opposed to just melting! I need a linen mini in my life but struggling to find one that fits on the hips without gaping like crazy around my petite chest! The search continues…
ANNNNAAAAAA this is incredible per usual. The insight, the photos, the tone. You definitely have been an inspiration for me with stripping back my shopping to buying pieces that really light me up. Loved this !
As someone who lives in a hot and humid climate, I love when you write about summer dressing! Lots of takeaways for me here: I do love a floral or girly element but find that in the high heat of summer, I just want to keep it minimal and sleek and can add texture/interest via bags and jewelry. And I love the advice about not wearing items you hate: where I live, shorts are basically a universal uniform but I hate wearing them! With a passion! Giving myself permission to just wear dresses and linen pants was a game changer.
Love this on so many levels. There’s so much pressure to have a holiday wardrobe but honestly I’d rather invest in finding new pieces while I’m on holiday to add to my wardrobe that will be staples for years to come than try to fill my closet with pieces FOR my holiday that I’ll get minimal use out of.
This is so wise! My issue is less about a summer wardrobe (I live in a warm climate) than a vacation wardrobe, but I can apply all the same lessons— I do not need a collection of “essential” pieces that look like the Riviera but are not me
I love this - I used to have clothes “just for holiday” which looking back is mad! Now anything I wear in the summer I would also wear on holiday, and same I got rid of the florals 😂 my stable pieces are now linen in shorts, shirts and dresses! Being co-ords I can also mix and match with my denim and T-shirts 🥰
I’ve shunned shorts and mini dresses for years because I’ve not felt confident enough to bare my legs. But after seeing your cute linen mini looks I think this is the summer I’m going to go for it.
I have a book rec that some of you might be interested in — it’s called “The Golden Thread” and it’s by Kassia St. Clair. It’s a fascinating read so far about the history of fabric; this post reminded me specifically of the portion about linens in ancient Egypt.

Love this. Whereeeee is the STUNNING white linen dress from?
Have you tried Kheils Superbly Efficient Antiperspirant & Deodorant Cream? Sweat won’t be an issue!
You had me at "floral-free zone". Brilliant, every word.

LOVE this reminder to stay true to our personal style “codes” no matter the weather or location!!

So much sense and your posts from last year continue to be so helpful!
