The Style Edit: Black Trousers That Work For Summer
The 50% off jeans, non-frilly warm weather tops and my favourite swimsuit in a new colourway...
We’ve got a lot of variety going on for this week’s wishlist; no-frill summer tops, a new LESET love and the dress that gives serious Zoe Kravitz vibes. I blame the recent bout of windy weather in the U.K for bringing denim back into my brain. But things are perking up again this weekend. Need hot weather styling ideas? There’s a ton in last week’s Wardrobe Diary. And once you’re all done here, there’s my June favourites to catch up with too.
Kallmeyer Column Leg Jeans* - I can’t remember the original source that shared these jeans this week (sorry!), but I screengrabbed them because they felt like a true vintage-style fit, with just the right amount of ease around the leg. A bit like my Loulou Studio Samur Jeans*, but with a slightly slimmer profile (although the Loulou ones are currently 55% off in the sale* - size up, as they run small).

Alex Mill Ruby Cami in Cotton* & Sidney Top in Linen* (I’d order both of these in a medium) - Not only am I always on the hunt for tops that aren’t just T-shirts or shirts, I’m also editing out anything that feels too filly, which really narrows the search during this boho summer season. However, here are two that tick that box in a big way. I’d style these with wide-leg jeans or white linen trousers for easy OOTD’s. Side note: The Alex Mill marketing is HOT. Put one of these in your basket and go to checkout, exit before you actually pay, and a 10% off email will land in your inbox in approximately an hour. You didn’t hear it from me…
LESET Carmen Pocket Pants* (I’d order these in a medium) - Kelly linked to these this week as part of her ‘Notes on a Shoe’ post, and they piqued my interest. An airy cotton-silk blend that feels like the kind of trousers you could pull on for chill weekend plans, or working from home. Note that if you’re ordering directly from LESET* in the U.K., duties and taxes are included, a big win.
Doen Almadia Crochet-Trimmed Midi Dress* (I’d order this in a medium) - Just like my no-frills (literally) top hunt, I’m searching for similar criteria when it comes to dresses, too. Of course, my white mini linen shift dress* is a favourite, but if you’re after something that leans a little into the Zoe Kravitz-esque nightie trend, without too much added detail, then here’s an option for you. Find more sizes here*, and some similar-looking dupes here*, here* and here*.
Emme Parsons Laurie Embellished Leather Sandals* (it reads that they fit small, go up one full size) - I KEEP coming back to these sandals. My one and only Emme Parsons purchase so far* has served me well, and I feel like just the flicker of that gold toe-ring will add a little something something to my otherwise pretty basic outfits. They are pricey, though, but the high street has caught up; these* and these* feel like two good options.
With Nothing Underneath The Boyfriend Linen Shirt in Hunter Green* (I wear this style in a UK.14 - I like their shirts to be pretty oversized) - If you liked my green shirt that reads a little a more ‘pea’ green*, here’s something a bit deeper, a more ‘mossy’ if that’s more your vibe. I’d pair a colour like this with black, cream or a darker wash denim. Code ANNA10 gets you 10% off your order.

Casa Clara Dreamer Shoulder Bag in Rattan* - I spotted this on Jordyn’s Substack this week and thought it was a good one to throw into the mix if you’re after a slouchy summer bag that’s most importantly, unbranded.
ARKET Square-Neck Swimsuit in Dark Brown* (I wear this in a 40). A final note to say that my favourite swimsuit is now available in brown. Whether you’re poolside in Mallorca or partaking in a kid’s swim class (I’ve tested both!), it gets the job done.
Things are a little more loosey-goosey behind the paywall these days. Think the inner style musings of my brain, but scrollable. Today, I chat through what I’ve consumed fashion-wise this week - YouTube videos, Substack posts and more. Then I give silk scarf styling a whirl in ways that would actually (kinda) work in the suburbs. And finally, THAT summer black trouser feature that’s been two months in the works. It’s here…
