Trying On Every Pair Of Jeans That I Own
The final piece of the wardrobe try-on puzzle...
Part five of five, baby, we made it. Need to get back up to speed? I’ve spent the past week trying on every single item of clothing in my wardrobe:
Trying on all of my jackets and coats (warning: will make you feel itchy for autumn).
My bag collection, that adds variety to my pretty basic wardrobe. Colour! Shape! Texture! It’s here.
The most mega try-on of them all? My tops. Think knitwear, T-shirts, waistcoats, vests, the lot.
And it turns out I am pretty ‘good’ at buying shoes. Who knew!?
Remember, these are my aims of the try on:
Streamline where possible.
Make sure everything fits, is clean, in working order and ready to wear.
Ensure I love it. If there’s hesitation, or I’m keeping something just to fill a category that I think is a ‘need’ but never really reach for, it’s gotta go.
For the final instalment, the grand finale - it’s trousers, a.k.a, a whole lot of denim. Of course, there’s some variety built in there, thanks to my more recent purchases that have leaned more into comfort, but there are some key learnings I made here in terms of where I like to push myself in my wardrobe (and where I don’t!). As with all the other posts in this series, I filmed the whole thing for you. Stick it on for some background noise while you conduct your own audit. Prefer to scroll? I’ve snapped photos and added my CliffsNotes for each piece, too. So read on for a what’s what of my denim collection, my long-standing favourite pair and of course what was added to my ‘to-sell’ pile that totalled almost 50 pieces by the end of my declutter…
